They were dying the death, as most support acts did, when the drummer suddenly started kicking drum kit all over the stage. It was a clever move as it certainly got the punters on there side. The only song I remember them doing was 'Go Jim Dandy'. They were not a bad wee outfit. Sabbath were better though. [reply]   Re:Black Oak Arkansas - jimmy smith - 17/11/2004 20:50:24 GMT dave i bet the 74 tour was a wild & crazy night at the apollo, sabbath w/ ozzy b.o.a. w/ jim dandy mangrum on vocal's. the drummer you speak of for b.o.a. was tommy aldrige he played the apollo with 4 differnt band's. 1st black oak, 2cd pat travers band ,3rd whitesnake 4th ozzy's blizzard of oz band. may be not in that order, scott & andy will know that 0ne. Still have it with all my other memorabilia. A Buddie of mine Reg Vernal used to roadie there circa 1976-1980 he has so much memorabilia from hundreds of shows, autographs you would die for drum sticks akimbo. Apollo R.I.P [reply]
