And then he walked along the edge of the Circle

This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!

New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

Comments on Bay City Rollers [reply]

My first ever Apollo gig was the Rollers when I was 11.  My Mum took me and my nine year old brother.  We were in the Gods, the Rollers looked tiny on stage, and the Bouncers made sure nobody was standing on their seats by pulling our feet out from under us.

I remember coming downstairs and seeing the St Andrews people helping all these girls who had fainted.  Hysteria indeed.

We had to send our money and request for a ticket with a s.a.e.I was so excited when they came in the post.I was in a box at the side and screamed my lungs out.I was fourteen and had on the white 'skinners' with the tartan down the side. I remember the highlight of the night was the pipe band marching through the stalls what they were playing i dont remember. [reply]
